Microsoft’s Cloud and Artificial Intelligence group is at the forefront of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, driving innovation and large-scale AI implementation. The Customer Experience (CX) Data and Artificial Intelligence team within this group is dedicated to delivering impactful data, insights and AI that drive growth of the Microsoft Cloud. Our Data Science and AI team works closely with our engineering and product management counterparts to perform analysis, drive impactful insights and deploy machine learning and AI solutions for a variety of product and business scenarios. We collaborate closely with teams across engineering, finance, business planning, and sales and marketing as part of our mission. We are looking for a Data Science Manager – CX Data + AI Support to drive data science for our efforts in the Microsoft Support space.

Responsibilities

 

  • You will oversee your team’s data acquisition efforts, ensuring they know how to use data collection and analysis technologies.
  • You’ll also optimize data analysis delivery and efficiency within and across teams.
  • You will develop new predictive and prescriptive models with the goal of producing viable solutions, and oversee data and statistical analyses across multiple teams.
  • You’ll also hold teams accountable for thoroughly reviewing data analysis and modeling techniques, and identify opportunities to reuse evaluation models.
  • You will give performance and quality feedback on technologies and products developed by Product Engineering, and provide coaching across internal teams to define and execute strategy.
  • You’ll also create the required infrastructure to troubleshoot and identify appropriate solutions, while ensuring the team can execute professional-level coding and debugging.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
    • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techn
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical te
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people-management experience.
  • 10+ years customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience.

Other Requirements:

 

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    • OR related field AND 10+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science,
    • OR related field AND 12+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people-management experience.

Data Science M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
