As a Data Engineer at Apex Fintech Solutions, you are free to explore unique solutions and try fresh ideas that may benefit our financial services and trading businesses, and our investment companies. Apex product development teams are charged with building the services our clients love and are at the heart of our future product innovations. Apex has begun its transformation from on-premise infrastructure to the Cloud (GCP), and our team is responsible for transforming our products into the next generation clearing platform that will lead our industry for years to come. 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Be a data wizard. Create, manipulate, access, and deliver data in the most efficient ways possible to business users, end-customers, 3rd-party vendors, and application developers
  • Work the data.  Create processes to load, transform, and deliver data to business users, end-customers, 3rd party vendors, and application developers.
  • Learn the data. Utilize excellent analytical and problem-solving techniques to understand our complex data structures and put the data to work. Participate in all phases of the development process.
  • See the data. Build reports, analytics and visualizations to help meet business initiatives and make decisions.

You’ll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar field
  • 2+ years of data engineering and analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in data warehousing and ETL processes
  • 1+ years of experience with Python
  • Advanced problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent client support skills
  • Proficient with version control systems, ideally GitHub
  • Ability and willingness to learn new things (languages, tools, frameworks) quickly
  • Experience with Cloud Data technologies preferred
  • Financial services background preferred
  • Experience with the MS SQL Server experience nice to have
  • Previous knowledge in financial markets isn’t required, but interest is a plus
  • Adaptability: while you enjoy establishing process and standards, you understand the need to be flexible and enjoy trying new things.
