The Role:

We are seeking creative, curious, and resourceful team members who operate at the frontiers of software, data science, and biology in prototyping new therapeutic modalities for our ML protein design platform. This role would be responsible for providing support across diverse computational areas including assay data analysis, NGS library design and analysis, and automation.

The successful candidate will both work closely within a small, cross-functional team, as well as collaborate with other groups to drive our computational efforts. Generalists who speak the languages of software, ML, and biology are encouraged to apply. A typical day could include designing and analyzing an experiment with a wet lab colleague, communicating with upper management, mentoring junior scientists, querying and curating data from our custom LIMS, presenting data analyses to the team, writing scripts for automated liquid handling, developing novel analytical methods for multiplex libraries, or building self-serve apps for the wet lab to analyze or simulate experiments.

Key responsibilities: 

• Support diverse data analysis methods and workflows.
• Plan and build software tools that provide biologists self-service computational support.
• Develop new computational pipelines integrated with existing machine learning and informatics platforms.
• Proactively provide computational guidance for assay design and high-throughput method development

Qualifications:

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, or related, with 3+ years biotech industry experience
• Deep understanding of diverse biological systems.
• Expertise developing bioinformatics pipelines and analyzing NGS data including RNA-seq and amplicon sequencing
• Deep understanding of statistics, curve fitting, and best practices for analyzing modern lab instrument data
• Demonstrated experience building high quality scientific software
• Proficiency in data analysis using Python and R.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with modern deep learning frameworks
• Experience managing computational scientists and instilling strong software best practices.
• Exposure to structural biology and protein engineering
• Ability to understand and query relational databases with complex data models
