CONTEXT
The Cartier Data Office is a team of 25 people working on data-driven solutions for various domains in the Maison, including supply chain, manufacturing, communication, and marketing.
As Data Scientists, we discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, help domains make smarter decisions and automate processes. Our primary missions are to perform data analysis, apply machine learning techniques and develop production level models served through custom applications. We strive to keep innovation at the heart of everything we do, exploring novel business solutions and technologies. We work hand in hand with data, cloud, machine learning and analytics engineers, as well as business stakeholders, to ensure that we deliver maximal value to the Maison.
YOUR MISSION
We are looking for a data scientist intern to work on a panel of different machine learning challenges. These challenges come from the specificities of the hard luxury sector such as rarely sold precious articles, regional differences, and one-time customers. You will work hand in hand with the different stakeholders, to deliver state-of-the-art solutions from ideation to production. You will be responsible for the development of an innovative solution with immediate impact, the subject of which is to be defined together with the business. Previous and current projects cover many areas such as sales forecasting, client segmentation, manufacturing processes optimization, stock allocation and generative AI uses cases.
YOUR RESPONSABILITIES
• Perform a literature review to ensure that your work is scientifically grounded and at the forefront of innovation
• Discuss findings and algorithm design with the rest of the team
• Develop a robust and scalable product that satisfies the business needs
• Evaluate its performance and collaborate with the business team
• Release your algorithm into production with our machine learning engineers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MSc in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent quantitative fields
• Scientific mindset: rigor in experimentation and a strong interest in developing state-of-the-art models
• Solid theoretical background in statistics and machine learning
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills
• Proficiency with standard ML/Bayesian frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, PyMC, etc.) and data processing libraries
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player, self-motivated and fast learner
DESIRED SKILLS
• Several projects and/or internship experience in data science
• Experience in the luxury sector
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (VertexAI, BigQuery, etc.)
• Experience with git and GitHub
• Experience with Docker
