What We Need

As we grow our slate of video game titles, we need to bring scale, repeatability and reliability to our reporting frameworks. We’re looking for a passionate Data Operations Analyst to work in our growing Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate is passionate about crunching data, documenting, developing standard metrics and visualisations, and extracting business insights. Enabling our analytics team to draw out clear insights and recommendations and our partners to confidently make decisions and monitor game health and marketing efforts based on the vast amounts of data we have at our disposal.

What You Will Do

  • Analyse data from multiple domains to understand data sources and develop metrics, documentation, and reporting to enable improvements across our data repositories, data definitions, data integrity and data quality.
  • Improve our reporting infrastructure in terms of data pipeline and maintenance by creating robust underlying base tables that can be the bases for different reports and dashboards and be easily expanded
  • Bring standard methodology for our pipelines, reports and dashboards. For example: support data quality standards and bring consistency in metric definitions across different data outputs such as reports and dashboards.
  • Work with Data Governance team creating and setting up documentation that include various components of our reporting platform, including details behind different dashboards, clear definitions of our data sources and metrics, data models and optimisation of data
  • Work with data visualisation team for design and support the implementation of new dashboards.
  • Work with partner teams, including marketing technology, BI, data engineering, game science and analytics producers to plan and implement Analytics and operationalize them into repeatable use
  • Respond to ad hoc data and report requests
  • Own communications about metrics, data sources, reports and recurring dashboard delivery as well as triaging and solving.

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit

An individual that must be able to see the underlying story in the data and know how to ask the right questions. A creative problem solver, a self-starter with the passion and enthusiasm to get results for a meaningful change.

  • Educational background in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering (or in another quantitative subject area).
  • Professional analytics experience performing data analysis and data quality
  • SQL (any variant) advanced at writing code efficiently and easy to read and follow
  • Have technical experience in building reporting summary tables/views and be able to establish standard methodologies around their design and maintenance
  • Experience building complex dashboards using BI tools (Tableau experience preferred)
  • Strong data-storytelling and presentation skills
  • Ability to proactively communicate and follows up with the team as well as different partners
  • Self-motivated person who can work independently and on numerous projects at the one time, and show ability to work with urgency of delivery

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in the video game gaming industry
  • Passion for gaming, knowledge of 2k portfolio
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Fluency in understanding database design
  • Familiarity with massive data sets and tools to deal with them
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages and tools: R or Python is a plus
