Job summary
Does working on a cutting edge serverless database excite you? The AWS Cloud Database team is building a new next generation transactional database technology: it is a revolutionary cloud native scale-out SQL database for operational workloads. If contributing to the design and development of a new, first-of-its-kind, database excite you, the role on new Initiative may be your dream job. As part of availability plane team, you will be responsible to work with multiple team in control plane and data plane to build and deliver features related to heat management, metering and observability tooling to enable serverless experience for the new initiative, allowing our customers to focus less on database operation and more on creating business value.

Basic Qualifications


  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • Experience building extremely high volume and highly scalable services
  • Experience building highly available systems and operating 24x7 services
  • Experience with distributed systems.
  • Experience with compute orchestrators, containers, hypervisors for database storage systems
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science
