Data Scientist

C Space is looking for a Data Scientist to further our Data Science practice. As C Space is making a significant investment in Data Science, this position is a key role in its Data Science journey. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with strong statistics/ML background to help us keep moving up and bringing new ideas to the Team, both internally and on client projects. That leader will be able to apply his/her creative and engineering mindset to data science related problems with a lot of white space and freedom to design solutions. This is a very exciting role for a data scientist with a passion for innovation!

What You'll Do

• Build bespoke solutions on client projects where the existing methods/vendors come short
• Build predictive models for internal metrics to help C Space make better decisions (HR, Finance, Operations, etc)
• Build process automations to enable faster and more operationally secure projects relying on data. These include AI robots, data tools and Quality Assurance, front end Matlab Apps
• Identify and build new capabilities within C Space where machine learning can replace tedious manual processes
• Assist the possible migration to the cloud
• Improve visualization of data
• Assist the evangelization of data and statistics within C Space by partnering with learning & development, sector leaders, etc.
• Identify and or invent medias to enhance the awareness, productization and adoption of the new methods/data/projects.
• Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders such as our clients, client teams, growth teams, Data & Analytics, Intellectual Property and Engineering.
• Assist the head of Data Science in identifying opportunities for data analytics/science, building the analytical road map, identifying and assessing the appropriate analytical tools/vendors
• Partner with the IP team to help create net new methods/insights. That content is promoted widely on social media and our clients, has a large visibility.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, physics, engineering, statistics, information systems, mathematics or similar
• Multiple years of experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to create/optimize machine learning, predictive, forecasting, and/or optimization models.
• 3+ years of relevant working experience in an analytical role involving data extraction, analysis, and communication
• Practical understanding and hands-on experience with the wide array of ML models with both supervised learning methods (linear and logistic regression, time-series modelling, generalized linear models, decision trees, random forests, support vector machines, etc.) and unsupervised learning methods (K-means, hierarchical clustering, association rules, principal components, tSNE, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to research scientists, engineering teams and business audiences
• Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment
• Strong proficiency in Matlab, SQL and R/Python/Stata/SPSS. Experience developing programs in Matlab a plus, Matlab’s Apps a plus plus.
• Excellent communicator, comfortable with both business and technology leaders.
• Significant ability to think outside of the box, to build without existing blueprints
