Salary Range: $63,500 - $67,000

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. Position Summary

The Manager, Polling & Analytics will be responsible for helping manage a robust public opinion research and analytics pipeline for Navigator Research, a campaign incubated within The Hub Project that conducts a significant volume of quantitative and qualitative research designed to act as a consistent, flexible, responsive tool to inform policy debates for audiences including progressive advocates, elected leaders, and the press. This person will report directly to the Director of Polling & Analytics, and work with a polling & analytics team, including a Senior Director, Director, Associate Director, and this position will be responsible for supervising the work of an Associate. 

 

This position will also work closely with Navigator Research’s strategic communications team (including a Director of Strategic Communications, Digital Content Manager, and a Partnership Manager), with responsibilities including working with the Navigator Research team on all phases of quantitative and qualitative research lifecycle on projects (including questionnaire design, discussion guides, sample design, field management, data analysis), participating in both written and graphical reporting for both Navigator Research products and other public opinion research projects, and being a regular spokesperson on behalf of Navigator Research to partners, elected officials, the media, and to internal stakeholders.

 

As a Manager, Polling & Analytics, you will…

  • Manage phases of both qualitative and quantitative research projects for Navigator Research.
  • Managing the data warehousing and infrastructure from public opinion research projects, as well as being able to work with large scale data (e.g., voter files) as needed.
  • Use data and research to craft narratives through a variety of deliverables, including newsletter writing, graphical presentation, and oral presentation.
  • Be a day-to-day contact with external polling and analytics vendors.
  • Develop dashboards that report key metrics to different decision-makers.
  • Represent Navigator Research and The Hub Project in the political data analytics community.
  • Represent Navigator Research as a spokesperson with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in conducting rigorous programmatic assessments and evaluations of campaigns run by The Hub Project, including potential field experiments, panel recontact studies, and/or randomized control trials. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

About you…

  • You’re committed to a just and inclusive economy that delivers opportunity and dignity to all Americans and is passionate about preserving and strengthening our democracy.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience, 2 of which working in survey research, data science, and/or analytics (such as with a research supplier, market research organization, or media outlet) or equivalent.
  • You have experience translating complex datasets into key findings and strategic recommendations, and presenting them to a variety of different types of audiences and stakeholders.
  • You are familiar with survey research methods and best practices.
  • You have experience working with voter files, particularly TargetSmart or Catalist.
  • You’re comfortable with multi-tasking, adapting to changing circumstances, and working under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. 
  • You’re well-organized and enjoy helping others achieve common goals. 

 

In addition, it would be a bonus if…

  • You have experience with statistical software packages and/or programming skills, such as R, Python, SPSS, and/or STATA.
  • You have experience working with data visualization software, such as Tableau or GIS.
  • You have experience with graphic design software, such as Photoshop or InDesign.

Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
