Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status

Our Dallas office is centrally located within the Metroplex, making it convenient and easily accessible for our team members from across the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.

The Product Team is a cornerstone of the culture and the app experience that millions of customers enjoy daily. Our mission is to provide an innovative amine streaming experience to our millions of subscribers and fans. We appreciate the value of understanding our users and nurturing their needs.

We are looking for a Product Manager with a strong understanding of engineering concepts who can balance that with a passion for understanding people. This role, dedicated to our CMS and Catalog API team, will report into the Director of Product Management for Metadata, Video Experience and Ads, but work closely with the PMs for our CMS and Catalog API teams to support their initiatives. Their primary role is to focus on Product Ownership to support our scrum teams and Senior Product Managers. The ideal candidate has an engineering background and is looking for their first opportunity to learn as they transition into product management.

Product Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Translate product roadmap features and requirements into well-crafted, testable user stories and acceptance test criteria
  • Manage the product backlog and prioritize it based on current needs
  • Develop and craft user stories
  • Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Actively groom the product backlog in partnership with the delivery teams
  • Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process and help communicate that to the product team and larger organization
  • Work with product managers to develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment and inform backlog management
  • Work with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering, and user enablement
  • Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks
  • Serve as the cornerstone for product management roadmaps
  • Collaborate with product managers, program managers, engineers, designers and other horizontal business partners during all stages of product creation including design and development
  • Partner with collaborators and customers across the organization to inform features, and prioritization
  • Collaborate as needed during the product functional design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Customer first attitude
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage and influence partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Ability to demonstrate a calm and cool demeanor when managing multiple initiatives
  • Experience successfully driving end-to-end delivery of data and intelligence solutions, including a wide variety of mechanisms, e.g. dashboards, APIs, real time alerts, etc.
  • Experience with both agile methodologies
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Excel, and Google Suite, a plus
  • Experience with system implementations and testing a plus
  • Previous experience as an engineer is helpful but not required
  • Eager and willing to learn
