The Opportunity:

Booz Allen's Aerospace Team is seeking a full-stack machine learning engineer to build innovative new applications and products in the defense market. As a full stack ML engineer, you can resolve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast, agile environment. If you’re looking for the chance to not just develop software, but to create AI systems that will make a difference, we need you on our team. We’re looking for a developer like you with an appetite to learn and the foundational skills needed to develop software, systems, train models, and push the boundary of the possible, this role is more than just coding. 

In this role, you will help build new generative AI-based products and offerings and their integration into specific client missions, both within the enterprise business context and in operational use cases. You’ll learn from and collaborate with a team of LLM, software and IT operations engineers, AI and ML experts, data scientists, solution architects, systems engineers, and product owners to deliver world-class solutions. 
 

You Have:  

• 2+ years of experience in software development and machine learning delivering high quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions 

• Experience with leveraging ML frameworks, such as TesorFlow or PyTorch or developing ML inference pipelines in environments, such as DataBricks or AWS SageMaker 

• Experience with developing in modern front-end technologies, such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript and front-end frameworks or libraries, such as React.js or Angular 

• Experience with back-end development using server-side languages and frameworks, such as Node.js, Python's Django or Flask, or Java's Spring Boot

• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservice architectures 

• Experience working with database management systems, SQL or NoSQL, including database design, optimization, and querying using databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB 

• Experience working with version control systems, such as Git, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts

• Experience with code review processes and collaboration tools like GitHub or GitLab 

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics 

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud native tools, such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions 

• Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and container orchestrations platforms like Kubernetes

• Experience working in Agile development environments, particularly Scrum, including participating in sprint planning, stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

• Knowledge of software testing principles and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, including use of technologies, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Jenkins

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
