We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst to help us build and scale our data practices. You'll be the go-to expert for our Revenue team, solving their most complex data requests. Working closely with our Revenue, Engineering, and Finance teams to provide insight and ensure we're answering today's questions with an eye for the future.

About This Role

As a Data Analyst, you'll own large parts of our Revenue Team’s data, and you’ll enable them to make data-informed business decisions. In addition, this role will work closely with Hologram’s data engineering team to define and rollout data definitions across the organization, so we can use the same words, terms, and metrics as Hologram scales. This role reports to the VP of Product and will work closely with our Revenue, Engineering, and Finance teams.

What you'll do:

  • Day-to-day partner with Revenue Team. Understand business stakeholders’ objectives, the metrics that are the most important to them, and how they measure their performance. Be the team's data expert & enables the business team to make data-driven decisions. Proactively anticipate & address data needs based on their understanding of the business.
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of our BI reporting tool (Looker) including companywide metrics and various dashboards
  • Support complex data questions & requests
  • Create & maintain company-wide data dictionary
  • Ongoing maintenance & optimization of existing queries & LookML
  • Conduct ongoing Looker user training
  • Work closely with FP&A counterpart to support data needs for forecast and analytical modeling purposes
  • Document and organize BI assets to maximize their usefulness, and prevent misuse, conflicting information, and redundancies
  • Identifies core data work (e.g. new integrations) required to meet their department's needs & works with BI Lead to prioritize onto the Data Engineering team roadmap (where necessary)

Helpful skills and experience:

Must have experience:

  • SQL proficiency. Minimum 3+ years writing SQL reports. Demonstrated ability writing & maintaining readable & performant queries.
  • Showcase experience leading analytics projects end-to-end and thriving in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment. Show us that you’ve made a difference with tangible outcomes in previous roles.
  • Experience working with & supporting B2B SaaS or complex B2C Product team(s)
  • Looker developer proficiency strongly preferred. Tableau, Mode, Domo, Power BI considered.
  • Experience gathering & translating business data needs into data reports/visualizations
  • Solve complex and broad business problems with analytically derived solutions
  • QA query experience leveraging SQL editor tools & Looker
  • Track record of thorough documentation of code
  • Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent technical field

Nice to have experience:

  • Experience with some of the following strongly preferred: Data Pipelines/ETL, Snowflake/DataBricks, report automation experience (using Python, R), knowledge of AWS services and cloud computing. experience with descriptive and inferential statistics.
  • BI experience in a start-up/high growth environment and/or experience standing up a new BI tool at an organization.
  • Previous experience managing multiple projects
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices and trends
  • Experience working with business teams (i.e. Sales & Marketing, Product, etc.)
  • Experience collaborating & defining requirements for any work needed with Product & Data Engineering teams
  • Experience organizing a data warehouse, normalizing data, and building data marts
