Child Welfare Market Research Intern - Part Time - Remote
We are seeking a motivated summer intern to assist with market research in the Child Welfare sector. The ideal candidate will have a background in social work or a related field, with specific knowledge of child welfare systems. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market research while contributing to projects that aim to improve child welfare services and outcomes.
Job Type / Schedule
Part-Time employee, 15 hours per week, remote.
Lyssn, io, Inc. is based out of Seattle, WA. The majority of work can be conducted remotely through telecommuting. Travel to customer sites, conferences, and in-person Lyssn team meetings is required – approximately 6-10 times per year.
Supervision
This position is available under the direction of Dr. Michael Tanana, Lyssn Chief Technology Officer. All Lyssn employees may interact with this position at different time points via an online interactive platform. A non-disclosure agreement will be required in this position.
Essential Functions
- Collect and analyze data related to child welfare programs, policies, and services
- Help identify market needs and opportunities within the child welfare sector
- Contribute to the preparation of research reports and presentations
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
- Support other research-related tasks as needed
- Work independently on assigned tasks, managing time effectively
- Utilize strong internet research skills to find and evaluate credible sources quickly
Requirements
Candidates are required to demonstrate the following skills
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or a closely related field
- Demonstrated interested and track record serving communities that are traditionally underserved by the child welfare system
- Strong academic background with coursework in child welfare, family services, or related areas
- Familiarity with child welfare systems, state and local organizational structures and roles, policies, and current issues
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional internet research skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative on projects
Compensation
This position has an hourly rate of $22/hour.
