You will be part of our Data Engineering (Business Intelligence) teams where you will be immersed in the world of healthcare technology and its impact on millions of lives.                

 In this role you will determine and implement the best technique for extracting data from a source system and moving it to the Business Intelligence tools, Power BI and Snowflake. You will understand and implement a variety of diverse Business Intelligence acquisition techniques while ensuring compliance with all standards. In this key role you will ensure that project deliverables are consistent with long-term infrastructure plans. This role is an integral component of the organization's Business Intelligence department delivering BI through Intelligence, Informatics and Data.  

 The fundamentals for the job…  

Each internship will have a unique set of project scope and qualifications, which are based on the business initiatives.  You will be working on projects in conjunction with Abarca’s Data Engineering (Business Intelligence) teams 

•  Understand the data structure and meaning in both the source and the target Business Intelligence tools, Power BI and Snowflake  
• Apply business rules as transformations 
• Adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements 
• Building and unit testing data transformation, source data transport, and population processes for environment 
• Assisting the Business Intelligence Team in delivering information and analytic solutions to the company’s key stakeholders, including members of the various business units, internal/external providers, and internal staff.  
• Report/Query testing, development and SSIS/SSMS. 

 What you’re made of  

The bold requirements…  

• Current and active student (Junior or Senior year) and enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security Engineering or related field.   
• Understand the data structure and meaning in both the source and the target Business Intelligence tools, Power BI and Snowflake 
• Apply business rules as transformations 

• Adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements 
• Building and unit testing data transformation, source data transport, and population processes for environment 
• Assisting the Business Intelligence Team in delivering information and analytic solutions to the company’s key stakeholders, including members of the various business units, internal/external providers, and internal staff.  
• Report/Query testing, development and SSIS/SSMS. 
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral English and Spanish.    

 Nice to have…  

• Knowledge of Business Intelligence designs and practices is a big plus.  
• Previous knowledge of the Healthcare industry
