Our Product team is looking for a Director of Data Analytics and Data Science to join the team. The Director will lead the business through all efforts that drive business performance and potential by using the existing and new data sources and techniques. This person will come with previous experience in business process analysis, data architecture design, and development. The Director will be responsible for supervising all activities and ensuring alignment with the business's vision and objectives. The Director aligns and directs the management, development, and integration of data analytics under the Product department to support the goals, strategies, and objectives of the business. Additionally, this person will lead the research, development, and implementation of relevant data systems. This position will report directly to our SVP of Product.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the optimization of all aspects of the marketing value chain (targeting, bid optimization, messaging, media preference, Text-to-Speech).
  • Develop efficient, data analytic production solutions and structure in collaboration with the SVP of Product.
  • Manage and grow a team of sharp and collaborative analysts and data scientists, ensuing they are successfully executing projects with the highest business impact.
    • Develop and grow the Data Analytics department: Have strong management and leadership skills in order to hire, develop, and inspire the product team.
    • Mentor analysts and data scientists achieve their career goals. Explain complicated stats or data technology concepts.
  • Test new concepts, improvements/features and integrate them into our proprietary reporting and suitability product, ViewIQ
  • Apply statistical analyses and data visualization techniques to examine and identify areas for automation to develop data scripts & pipeline
  • Exercise experience in the full product development lifecycle through analysis, design, development, testing and deployment for new product launches and new product features.
  • Cross collaborate with Product team members and Operations team to create greater explanatory value from data and deliver timely, high-quality product data
  • Present your insights to internal teams, clients and stakeholders across varying levels, areas of expertise, and degrees of technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • BA or Graduate Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Digital Marketing, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years experience working as an Associate Director, or Director of Data Analytics and/or Data Science (or equivalent) in an advertising agency, video technology company, or related fields.
  • At least 4+ years of experience working hands-on with advertising programmatic platforms (ad servers, DSPs, SSPs, data platforms).
  • Agile product management experience
  • Ability to work remotely, managing various time zones within the US.
  • 5 + years of applied statistical analysis, NLP, and/or machine learning.
  • 5+ years experience with SQL, Python (Preferred) including Python libraries (scikit-learn or Keras, pandas, and NumPy, matplotlib or ggplot or boheh), or R (including knowledge of tidyverse (dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, etc.), caret, gbm, randomForest, database interfaces (RODBC, dbi, RMySQL, etc), or Scala
  • Understanding of architectures, databases, and APIs
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the creation of product-related documentation
