Manager, Data Science
We are seeking a data science leader to lead one of the data science groups and manage development of wearable device technologies and or biosensor analytic algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Solve hard problems in digital health & continuous patient monitoring by applying expertise and competencies in signal processing and machine learning, problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Assess and address algorithmic deficits, plan and conduct incremental improvements and course corrections in overcoming defects and/or bugs.
- Collaborate with internal stake holders, cross-functional teams, and leaders to create the project plans and execute high-quality data science deliverables effectively against organizational and regulatory standards.
- Conduct qualitative visualizations and quantitative analysis of algorithmic features’ trends and patterns and performance outcomes from feasibility and pivotal studies and product deployment.
- Manage data science projects, feature development and releases, dictate timelines and ensure high quality and efficacy of deliverables/functionalities.
- Guide, direct and support team members with the latest AI concepts, libraries, tools and professional development.
- Foster collaborative cross functional communication, proper planning, and timely executions.
- Facilitate productive discussions within team as well as cross-functional collaborations.
- Prepare reports including the design, implementations, and verification & validation, and present results and recommendations to cross functional teams and management.
- Follow good research development practices and quality management system for product life cycle.
- Ensure that team members have all resources required to be productive and work to resolve any blockers to team’s workflow. Constantly look to improve the team’s workflow and strategize to increase team output and enhance work experience.
- Develop personal growth opportunities for team members.
- Contribute to the company's intellectual property and publications.
- Be self-driven, motivated and a team leader.
Qualifications
- PhD/MS in Digital Signal Processing, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- 5+ years of industrial experience in developing biosensor analytic algorithms for biosensor and or cloud deployment involving complex physiological and actigraphy signals.
- Solid background and practical expertise in digital/image/statistical signal processing, and machine/deep learning.
- Hands-on experience in PPG/actigraphy signal processing, embedded sensor hardware development, algorithm integration and testing are a plus.
- Proficiency in programming using MATLAB, Python and or C/C++.
- Experience with agile project management, version control, and QMS tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Good track record with patents and high-quality publications.
- Managerial experience and scrum master experience are a plus.
- Should be adept to working in a fast-moving environment and strong ability to take initiative.
