The ideal candidate will have experience working at a startup or a similar fast-paced environment. We are looking for a savvy Data Transformation Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts. The hire will be responsible for building and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture and data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will collaborate with business systems analysts, system architects, and security teams to ensure consistent optimal data delivery architecture throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Predictive Data Science initiatives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture for Enterprise Data warehouse
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Design and maintain flexible data mappings across connected applications, sourced from dynamic upstream applications including not limited to Engineering applications, CRM, etc
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources - including structured and semi-structured.
  • Build analytics tools and data lakes that utilize the data pipelines to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other critical business performance metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Data owners, Business Process Owners, and Systems Analysts across departments to assist with data-related technical issues Develop algorithms to transform data into useful, actionable information
  • Identify opportunities to cleanse data, improve data integrity and minimize data redundancies.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies

Your Skills and Qualifications Include:

  • Overall 8-10 years of relevant technical expertise 
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field. 
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases like Postgres
  • Hands-on experience working on large scalable SaaS data warehouses like Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or equivalent. 
  • 5-7 years of experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets using a primary iPaaS tool like SnapLogic, Workato, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with standard  data models in Salesforce and other financial transactional systems would be a plus
  • Working experience with a code repository management tool like Bitbucket, Git, or equivalent.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong project management, documentation, and organizational skills, and capability to self-manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented/object function scripting language: Python, Java, R, Scala, etc
  • You are passionate about all aspects of data governance and have a curious, exploratory attitude to discover information for answering business questions in a quantifiable way.
  • You have working experience on collaborative tools like Jira, Confluence, Slack
  • Familiar with semi-structured data types like XML, JSON
  • Familiarity with Industry best practices for data storage, migration, security, failover risk management
