As a data engineer, you will bring proven engineering practices to building and deploying services that build value from the data Flexe has aggregated.

What you'll do:

  • Evolving technology that is at the heart of our business. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing data systems that impact our customers directly.
  • Deliver value from conception to release. You will work directly with customer stakeholders to design, implement, deliver and support a variety of data and analytics needs. Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and the loading of data from a wide variety of data sources. Building fully automated reusable data pipelines and operationalizing them.
  • Facilitate personal and team growth. You will work with leadership to establish goals for your growth. Combined with mentoring and supporting other engineers, you will directly contribute to scaling out the organization.
  • Value a healthy and productive culture. You will work in an environment that values ambitious but sustainable growth. Advocate and advance modern, agile development practices and evangelize great engineering culture. Define and promote best practices and data standards. Adherence to data governance processes and practices.
  • Build data architecture that enables reporting, analytics, data science, and data management and improves accessibility, efficiency, governance, processing, and quality of data.

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline or 5+ years of equivalent experience 
  • 3+ years experience in designing and building complex ETL/ELT, data modeling, schema design, and using large databases in a business environment 
  • Expert-level skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL and relational databases 
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts Experience with object-oriented programming languages (Java, Python, Ruby, etc.) 
  • Experience working with Cloud platforms (Data, Services, Scheduler, Pub/sub, etc.) 
  • Experience with Cloud SQL in one of the major cloud technology providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) 
  • Experience working with code collaboration and repository management tools (Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab, etc.) 
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.) 
  • Experience working with data transfer technologies (APIs, Pub/Sub, etc.)
