We are looking for a Senior MLOps Engineer to join our growing ML team! Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will manage our end-to-end machine learning platform and core infrastructure, from research to production ML pipelines. You are well-versed with the nuances of CI/CD/CT in the machine learning lifecycle and have a results-oriented approach to measuring the improvement of your peers' engineering workflows. You will minimize the time it takes to take a model to production and maximize the reliability of that production ML system.

You Will:

  • Drive components of our MLOps technical roadmap concerning high-throughput online inference, active learning for supervised approaches, and reproducible ML pipelines at scale.
  • Design and implement reference architectures for large-scale ML systems to support both training and serving workloads collaborating and knowledge-sharing with our Core-Infrastructure team to compress time-to-production for Machine Learning
  • Build tooling and pipelining abstractions to allow ML engineers to focus on experimentation while empowering self-service to deploy and serve their models consistently
  • Help ML engineers produce clean, reproducible, and performant machine learning through rigorous code review with a lens on software quality
  • Advocate for automation and monitoring at all steps of ML system construction, and help to define best practices based on personal industry experience and research across the Machine Learning team
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and reviews

You Have:

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with Python,
  • Experience with Pytorch and pytorch lightening
  • Experience maintaining functional, production reference architectures for end-to-end Machine Learning in cloud (GCP preferred)
  • Linux system administration skills
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as MLFlow and DVC
  • Skills in containerizing ML Models (Docker experience preferred)
  • Experience with declarative infrastructure and Kubernetes (GKE) for model serving and scalable inference
  • Exposure to automated testing and CI/CD in the ML context
  • Understanding of fundamental ML concepts
  • A desire to see teammates succeed together

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ML libraries (image processing and NLP)
  • Experience with Google AI Platform for PyTorch implementations
  • Background in Life Science
  • Experience with distributed data processing abstractions such as Apache Beam
  • Experience with hermetic build tools such as Bazel
