AI Scientist (Computer Vision)

About the role

As an AI Research Scientist, you will use state-of-the-art techniques to create AI models to automatically process image data that we have collected in Amartha. You will collaborate with other teams in the company to deploy AI products to enhance various business processes throughout Amartha’s products. Finally, your expertise will help us empower women in rural areas and accelerate the growth of Indonesia economy.

Responsibilities

• Help the product team to sharpen problem statement definition to enhance our credit approval process by leveraging image data.
• Develop computer vision use cases (object detection, image classification and OCR) using image data.
• Build scalable models and deploy them as REST API services in the production environment.
• Follow the latest trend of computer vision or OCR technologies and research into their applicability with the business needs.
• Coordinate with machine learning engineers to deploy end-to-end machine learning pipeline in production.

Requirements

• A research MS degree or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related technical field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with large-scale systems in data science / software engineering / machine learning engineering.
• Experience with linear algebra, calculus, statistics, and machine learning.
• Exposure to industry or academic research, proven with portfolio and/or publication records.
• Exposure to Deep Learning, Neural Networks, or related fields and a strong interest and desire to learn about them.
• Experience in other ML topics (NLP, speech, motion, time-series) is a plus.
• Experience in machine learning / deep learning deployment is a plus.
• Hands-on experience implementing or prototyping machine learning systems at scale in Python, Java, Scala, Go or similar languages.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
