The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

The Infrastructure team’s mission is to build scalable, secure, reliable, and observable platforms, services, and tools that enable our data scientists and data engineers. We help our organization build the pipelines that ingest and analyze petabytes of healthcare data that feed our products and data platform.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have:

• Developed new features and bugfixes for our internal Airflow, Jupyter notebook, and OpenSearch platforms that are used by teams across the company
• Identified and executed on initiatives to drive down our cloud infrastructure costs
• Enabled our MLOps team by architecting and supporting our Databricks workspaces 
• Developed patterns, best practices, and documentation to standardize the way users access our clusters

What you bring to Komodo:

• Proficiency with Python 3, comfortable reviewing code and providing feedback on pull requests
• Understanding of Spark architecture for use in batch processing and ad-hoc analytics
• Understanding of Airflow architecture
• Kubernetes architecture; most of our infrastructure, including Airflow and Spark, is running in k8s
• AWS infrastructure including EC2, RDS, EKS, S3, VPCs, ASGs

Where You’ll Work

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
