Data Scientist

We support customers throughout the Department of Defense and U.S. Government in building innovative new tools to deliver unique, world-class data exploitation capabilities.

SciTec has immediate opportunities in Princeton, NJ for talented algorithm developers and engineers to support programs focusing on image/signal processing, Bayesian statistics, data fusion, machine learning, and tracking filters for exploitation of data from remote sensing systems (ground-based, airborne and space-based).

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Researching new data processing algorithms, machine learning approaches, and analysis techniques for remote sensor data exploitation
• Developing proof-of-concept data exploitation tools in languages such as MATLAB or Python
• Testing, validating, and tuning analysis tools and algorithms
• Characterizing quality/performance of algorithms and sensor systems
• Supporting code transition to real-time automated implementations
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

The following minimum qualifications are required for the position:

• A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, computer science, data science, or comparable quantitative disciplines
• Experience with MATLAB or Python
• Experience or course work in the areas of signal processing, statistics, machine learning, or data analytics
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance

Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred:

• An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science, data science, or comparable quantitative disclipline
• Experience with exploitation and analysis of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR), Multi-/Hyper-spectral Imagery (MSI/HSI), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) data, or other remotely sensed data
• Experience with machine learning, image processing, or filtering algorithms
• A current DoD Security Clearance
