About The Role
As Senior Data Scientist, Operations Analytics at Coalition you will be accountable for helping improve efficiency and drive process improvement within the organization by reviewing company procedures, collecting data, and performing advanced modeling techniques to streamline operations and reduce wasted time and resources. You will work closely with the business stakeholders to comprehend current processes, limitations (both system and legal/compliance), and opportunities to improve workflows. You will be expected to evangelize operational improvements within the business units and monitor/report to e-team on the marginal improvements from the changes.

Responsibilities

  • Guide cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and assessment techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic operational judgements and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Review company policies and business processes, using advanced statistical techniques to improve conclusive and develop new policies and procedures to reduce operational inefficiencies.
  • Drive the design and delivery of data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that assist key business operational judgements.
  • Collaborate with the sales and engineering team to improve cost-effectiveness across all platforms
  • Enhance end-to-end insurance workflow and improve cross-departmental engagements
  • Training staff to use new systems or follow new processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute and grow the culture of data excellence on our team by bringing mature insight, first-rate practices, and processes to our organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in related logical, business systems or data engineering fields
  • Knowledge of and experience using logical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, assessing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
  • Comfortable with change management, recommending new tools and methodologies to improve the efficiency of the business units performance and delivery.
  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude
  • Strong communication experience and aptitude to convey intricate topics to non-technical audiences 
  • Drive and a deep sense of accountability. We build the systems that keep us and our customers safe!

Bonus Points

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related technical field
  • Experience guiding with agile software development practices
  • Experience working in Tableau/Looker or similar data visualization tool
  • Experience as a Programmer - Python, R, Perl, Java, and/or C++
