We are looking for a Data Architect with experience designing and building best-in-class data warehousing and business intelligence systems to join our team. At BetterUp, we believe data is critical to our success and this role on the Analytics Engineering team will be crucial to this strategy of delivering exceptional data products that will drive key business decisions. What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, validate, and communicate enterprise-wide data platform solutions using modern tools and cloud technologies 
  • Work cross-functionally to design and build our next generation data warehouse
  • Research solutions and create POCs for our next-gen data-observability and data cataloging tools
  • Solve architecture-at-scale problems, including reporting performance with increasing data volumes, code deployment and testing in a multi-instance system and single-source of truth enforcement as our team and stakeholders grow
  • Build tooling for Analytics Engineers, Data Scientist and Analysts to improve development efficiencies in dbt and Looker

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering and/or analytics engineering 
  • Understanding of data management and governance concepts such as data warehousing, data quality, data observability, metadata management, dependency management, etc.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake and DBT 
  • Experience implementing and applying software engineering principles (testing, version control, code reviews, CI/CD, etc.) to scale analytical development 
  • Experience with Looker or comparable BI tools
  • Proven track record of enabling data teams to scale
  • Proven track record working cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Solutions-driven and thrives when given ambiguous, open-ended problems
  • Strong project management skills. Proven success leading projects from concept to implementation to stakeholder education and onboarding
