Senior Manager, Text Collection

Recorded Future collects intelligence from many sources in “threat actor space.” This data collection includes hundreds of dark web forums and markets, ransomware sites, specific channels on niche social media platforms, and terabytes of data dumps that are shared and trafficked in the underground. The Text Collection (TC) team builds the data collection and analytics that transform this mass of raw data into structured intelligence information that our customers use to defend their people and networks. You will lead and grow the team of engineers working to improve the coverage, accuracy, and speed of these intelligence capabilities.

What you’ll do:  

• Guide and develop your team of data engineers, and hire new team members
• Plan, manage, and deliver TC projects in an Agile SDLC environment
• Collaborate with researchers who establish access and manage upstream collection
• Design analytics with our cybersecurity researchers and other engineering teams
• Implement robust ETL and processing methods for this semi-structured security data

• Significant engineering management experience leading Data Engineering teams. Recent experience managing fully remote and/or hybrid teams.
• You enjoy coaching, and take pride in your people’s growth.  You are skilled at turning requirements into work plans and driving incremental delivery, sprint by sprint.
• Python programming. You can write production-grade python code and can be a part-time player / full-time coach.
• Excellent communication: Your clear thought is apparent in crisp emails, Slack chats, phone calls, and in-person conversations.
