More about this team and project

You’ll be providing support to the BI analyst team, making sure they have all the relevant information available to perform their daily tasks. They need to understand the impact of their work and decisions, your role will be to help surface the data that makes this possible. You’ll be working with the Yoti data pipeline to ensure that data is gathered quickly, correctly and very importantly, in a secure and privacy protecting manner.

It is worth noting that this role does not involve reporting or conducting business analysis or drawing business insights.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience with data modelling and schema creation.
• Experience with data ingestion, creating and maintaining db connections and manipulating datasets (e.g. SQL)
• Experience working with one or more of: AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Postgres, any other databases or data warehouses.
• Experience with troubleshooting and applying technical diagnostics.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience implementing and managing Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Looker, Tableau, Qlik, and Power BI.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation writing and delivery.
• Data modelling experience, gathering and analysing system requirements focused on the data elements across capture, processing, storage and distribution.
• Advanced Data Warehousing (Fact and Dimension modelling).
• Knowledge of Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake or other cloud DW solutions.
• Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques in step with current industry best practice and technical solutions.
• Advanced SQL experience in DB2/MS SQL SQL Server or similar
• Advanced SQL Server Integration Services
• Familiarity with backend databases and APIs
• Experience with python a plus

Responsibilities:

This role is part of Yoti’s BI engineering team and is a key role responsible for supporting data analysts and data scientists by enabling them to analyse and report data using the data models created by you. Alongside data modelling you will be involved in monitoring, optimising and enhancing the BI pipeline and infrastructure.

• One of the primary responsibilities is to undertake a wide range data modelling requirements with varying levels of complexity
• Work with the analyst team to maximise benefits of business intelligence and data analytics, in line with their business objectives
• Support with delivery and migration of new data where change remains a constant and a continuous improvement cycle regime prevails.
• Provide input into data management practices including data classification, data retention, data usage, data destruction and any other aspect of data usage across technical and non-technical solutions.
• Assist in defining and building data architecture for data warehouse and big data solutions (including fact and dimensional modelling)
• Support development of data architecture & accessibility (ETLs, data warehouse, Looker)
• Contribute to data analyses & dashboarding initiatives
• API microservice development
• Git code management
• Work with an interesting tech stack - this role will help build your BI experience
• Support Business As Usual (BAU) activities
• Creating and maintaining SQL Server jobs, SSIS packages and stored procedures
• Creation, Scheduling and Support of Business Intelligence reports
• Creating documentation
• Data loading and formatting
• Review and validate data as it is collected
• Troubleshoot and diagnose performance issues
• Assists in implementing effective business analytics that drive improved decision making, efficiency and performance
• Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues
• Knowledge of data, master data and metadata related standards, processes, and technology
• Ability to communicate with nontechnical business users to determine specific business requirements for reports and business intelligence solutions
• Problem solving and debugging skills
