The Selling Partner Services (SPS) organization drives Selling on Amazon and develops solutions that enable millions of sellers around the world to sell to hundreds of millions of customers world wide. These solutions include the software platform and applications that drive demand generation, customer acquisition, seller integration, customer relationship management, business analytics, and the inventory and order management functions necessary for sellers to manage their business on Amazon.

At SPS, we drive the selection & catalog growth for millions of sellers through the application of Machine Learning and other advanced computer science disciplines. We are applying predictive technology and data analytics to large volumes of data and against a wide spectrum of problems. If you have experience with data analytics and recommendation systems we’d like to have you join our team. You will get to work with an innovative company, with great teammates, and have a lot of fun helping our customers. A successful candidate will be a person who enjoys diving deep into the business problem, exploring relevant data factors, performing impact analysis, discovering root causes. You will own engaging stakeholders, both within Amazon and within the wider Selling Partner community to understand customer needs and, working backwards for the solution & products that you build to drive prioritization of features and deliverables.

Job responsibilities

* Work with large datasets from multiple sources to prototype mathematical, statistical, or data models, and design solutions
* Able to create quantitative abstractions
* Measure, monitor and improve current metrics
* Lead new metric designs- from ideation to implementation
* Closely work with business partners to test, evaluate, and validate hypotheses
* Involve in identifying gaps in the business and suggestive effective ways to measure and thus improve the gap

Basic Qualifications


· A MS in CS, Operations research, or in a highly quantitative field.
· 3+ years of hands-on experience (academic or industrial) in predictive modeling and large data analysis.
· 3+ years of using mathematical, statistical or data models to solve business problems
· Strong coding and problem-solving skills in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, etc.
· Working knowledge of web-scale data processing (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
· Sound theoretical understanding of broad machine learning concepts, with deep and demonstrable expertise in at least one topic or application of machine learning.

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s degree or PhD in a highly quantitative field (Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, etc)
· 1+ year industrial experience practicing ML on the cloud and quickly cycling through ML initiatives at scale
· Subject matter expertise in forecasting spatial and time dependent data
· Ability to develop strategic, baselined, data modeling processes
· Experience setting up ML infrastructure on the cloud is a plus
· Publications or presentations in recognized ML journals or conferences is a plus
· Industry experience working with search engines, autocomplete, or recommender system
