Machine Learning Engineer - Conversational Ai

We recently raised our Series B, signed a multi-year partnership with Google Cloud, and we are focused on bringing our technology to market. We will partner with customers so they can build natural language understanding and generation into their products with just a few lines of code.

Why this role?Contribute to Cohere’s mission by exploring new high-risk, high-reward areas of product impact. Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to develop & execute visionary, yet grounded, research projects. Discover and weave insights across the academic literature to build new open-source tooling, interactive demos, and additions to Cohere’s core products.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will:

• Implement and leverage the forefront of NLP research to explore new verticals.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code.
• Continuously sharpen your ability to plan & execute product-minded NLP research. 
• Rapidly test scientific hypotheses via demos or proof-of-conceptsCollaborate in an async-first mode with few meetings and lots of writing (as our team is distributed across time zones). 

You may be a good fit if you have:

• Proficiency in Python and any ML frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience in applied NLP models and products.
• A preference for working in a highly autonomous environment.
