The team is responsible for the delivery of a full spectrum of services supporting the data analytics workflow on credit portfolios, with the aim of delivering actionable, automated analytics capabilities integrated with day-to-day operations. Our work is based on Qualco’s suite of end-to-end credit operations and analytics products.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with the business stakeholders of internal and external clients on a regular basis, to record stated reporting and descriptive analytics requirements, identify the underlying business need, and suggest Qualco product-based facilities or services to meet the need;
  • Assist descriptive analytics consultants with the interpretation of business stakeholder needs and their translation into detailed technical specifications and advise on product usage best practices in the area of data delivery and reporting;
  • Implement reporting and descriptive analytics deliverables through a combination of Qualco product configuration facilities (SQL data transformations and consistency checks), suitable data visualization front ends and (if no other alternative exists) plain SQL coding, and advise product team members on any needs whose scope exceeds these facilities;
  • Monitor the usage and performance of the above deliverables in production, identify and pursue areas of potential improvement or optimization, and maintain the deliverables in the face of requirement changes.

To achieve the above, the descriptive analytics engineer will have access to Qualco’s consulting and product development functions and will have a say in the elaboration of departmental methodologies and product best practices.

Requirements

  • University degree plus at least two years’ experience in an analytics or technical consulting role;
  • Mastery of relational and/or multidimensional database concepts and their interactive use through standard tools (e.g. SQL Server Management Studio). A solid knowledge of SQL and some familiarity with query optimisation techniques are absolute prerequisites;
  • Experience in technical aspects of credit portfolio management operations support, ideally. Using the Qualco Collections and Recoveries (QCR) platform would be considered a plus (not mandatory);
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, as a tool for report prototyping and data exploration via pivot tables, queries and formulas. Knowledge of other data presentation front ends (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) is desirable but not indispensable;
  • Good verbal and written communication and cooperation skills in Greek and English. Working as part of a diverse team with a range of technical and interpersonal skills is a key aspect of this role, as is acting as an internal champion for the product, the client and our established best practices.

In addition, the ideal candidate would also have one or more of the following:

  • A grasp of typical credit-related data models (customers, accounts, transactions, workflows, collateral etc.) and the relationships within them, in the context of banking, collections or debt servicing operations. Familiarity with the processes to which our product contributes will help you to interpret and evaluate options for the translation of business requirements into technical implementations;
  • Knowledge of French, Italian or Spanish language will be considered a plus.
