The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Dell Medical School is seeking a Senior Data Analyst, Program Integration. This position will play a key role in interpreting and analyzing complex data sets to provide valuable insights and inform strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, data visualization techniques, understanding clinic program improvement and integration and the ability to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The Senior Data Analyst, Program Integration will balance shifting priorities, cultivate highly collaborative partnerships with leadership and high-clinicians level management of programs, and use consistently good judgment. This position has an end date of 8/31/25, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward program goals.

A flexible working arrangement agreement can be accommodated based upon the needs of the program and with supervisor approval. This position may require occasional work on-site for some of the scheduled work week. Remote work will require reliable internet access and a suitable, private workspace free from distractions.

Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Operations and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, the Senior Data Analyst, Program Integration will provide data leadership of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science’s Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health division (CABH) and Texas Child Mental Health Clinical Programs (TCMHCP) including Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT), Child and Perinatal Psychiatry Access Networks (CPAN/PeriPAN), the Child Psychiatry Workforce Expansion (CPWE) and other similar initiatives and programs. This position will provide leadership, consultation, presentation, and a systems/structures approach to ensure that the necessary data systems, policies, and supports available to understand and improve the quality of Dell Medical School and Texas Child Mental Health Clinical programs goals. The Senior Data Analyst, Program Integration, will develop and implement data management strategies and structures to support successful implementation, evaluation, growth and sustainment of behavioral health programs serving students, families, schools, and medical providers across Central Texas. 

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management, stakeholders and colleagues to understand business needs, define strategies, identify opportunities and address key challenges. Provide advanced analysis of existing data and structures, consultation, interpretation, and presentation of complex data environments. Develop innovative data-driven solutions for strategic decision-making and business growth.

  • Clinical Program Integration & Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness, impact, and use of clinical programs and present to requesting stakeholders. Analyze program performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and outcome measures to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of data analysts and data management technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor progress to ensure timely and successful project completion. Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development efforts for the data team. Supervise full-time staff and student assistants.

  • Technical Expertise: Perform and review complex (senior-level) data analysis and data research work. Provide advanced analysis of existing data and satisfies ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests; serve as a first point of escalation for leadership. 

  • Quality Assurance/Compliance: Oversee regular reviews and audits to identify and address data integrity issues. Define, develop, and implement data and reporting standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytical findings and deliverables. Implement necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure comprehensive documentation of data analysis methodologies, specifications, tools, processes, and outcomes. Deliver clear, concise, and actionable reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate analytical findings, key insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Oversee development of technical workflows, project plans, and timelines to ensure scalable data management processes and increase efficiencies across platforms, departments, teams, and institutions.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, foster trust, transparency, and collaboration. Act as a liaison between the data analytics team and other units, clinics, and programs, facilitate communication and resolve conflicts, across the organization. Support continued collaboration with program coordinators and clinical staff, analyze quantitative and qualitative data from satisfaction surveys, focus groups, and other sources to monitor quality, assess fidelity of program implementation, and drive continuous improvement. Represent Dell Medical School in inter-institutional data governance committees and represent DMS TCMHCP at Consortium level.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five years of high-level data leadership experience, including direct supervision of staff, with a demonstrated ability to manage within complicated and complex organizations or master’s degree and three years of similar experience. One year of full-time equivalent applicable experience may be substituted for each thirty semester hours of college credit earned, or vice versa; however, a minimum of one year of applicable experience is required. Demonstrated ability to solve problems, leverage critical thinking skills, manage conflict, make decisions independently, and ability to solve problems. High degree of sensitivity to stakeholder needs. Excellent communication, tactical and strategic planning, and supervisory skills are required. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree. More than five years of professional leadership experience with regional or state-wide initiatives. Familiarity with UT Austin policies, procedures, and systems. Experience administering mental health or education initiatives.

Salary Range

$90,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
