Data Scientist

We are looking for a Data Scientist that develops and programs integrated software algorithms to structure, analyze and leverage data in product and systems applications in both structured and unstructured environments; uses machine language and statistical modelling techniques to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance; and apply deep learning technologies to make meaningful changes to machine learning and interactive systems. The successful candidate should be familiar with qualitative analysis and experienced in, or willing to grow in, quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities:- Conduct research and applies scientific methodology and principles of process research to the development of new products and ideas.- Create proof-of-concept and production-quality machine learning solutions using open source tools, libraries and frameworks.- Work closely with R&D team. Train and develop machine learning models with a focus on NLP.- Support existing data engineering processes that deploy ML models to production- Mine and analyze large sets of data from a variety of sources in order to develop predictive insights that can inform product enhancements and decision making- Detect patterns associated with our massive text and raw data to generate models enabling our customers with recommended actions and predicted results- Deliver well-tested, reliable, and maintainable code- Contribute to the design and development of high-quality backend systems - Disciplined approach to software testing including unit and integration test as well as CI/CD.- Contribute towards documentation and writeups- Complete research in a collaborative team environment Learn new technologies quickly in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities- Showcasing research and analysis to internal stakeholders (i.e. to Lead, Design, PM)- Support our Anti-Racism and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ADEI) mandate by (at a minimum) being aware of our ADEI commitment and initiatives and completing all required ADEI training.
Experience & qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent- Minimum 3 years of work experience (can include co-op or internships)- Experience with state-of-the-art NLP models- Strong Programming experience in Python- Experience with bash scripting- Experience with a variety of database technologies, such as PostgreSQL, and Redis- Software engineering skills in ML enterprise software development.- Understanding of relational data with experience writing, debugging and optimizing data within Python/Pandas/SQLIf you don’t see yourself fully reflected in every job requirement listed on the posting above, we still encourage you to reach out and apply.
