Delivering the best Spotify experience possible. To as many people as possible. In as many moments as possible. That’s what the Experience team is all about. We use our deep understanding of consumer expectations to enrich the lives of millions of our users all over the world, bringing the music and audio they love to the devices, apps and platforms they use every day. Know what our users want? Join us and help Spotify give it to them.
Spotify is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Platform & Partner Experiences team. Our team is responsible for all of Spotify’s consumer experiences outside of our core iOS and Android applications. We focus on areas like desktop, TVs, speakers, cars, wearables, and partner application integrations to make Spotify available wherever our users are. Together with us you will study user behaviour, evaluate critical initiatives and experiment with new features. Above all, your work will affect the way the world experiences music.

What you’ll do

  • Co-operate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, user researchers, product managers, designers and engineers who are passionate about our consumer experience across platforms and partners
  • Perform analyses on large sets of data to extract impactful insights on user behaviour that will help drive product and design decisions
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to external partners
  • Work from our awesome offices in London - we offer relocation packages if you do not currently live in London
  • Be a key partner in our work to build out our ubiquity strategy so that we are relevant in the daily lives of consumers.
  • Be part of building the next generation Spotify experience outside of our native applications.
  • Work closely with external partners and be creative to understand how we can build, run experimentation and learn from new platforms and product experiences.

Who you are

  • Relevant experience, with a degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics or another quantitative subject area
  • Strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
  • Know how to understand and tackle loosely defined problems and come up with relevant answers and impactful insights
  • Coding skills (for example Python, Java or Scala)
  • Analytics tools experience (such as Pandas, R, SPSS, SQL, or Hadoop)
  • Statistical competence (such as regression modelling, a/b testing, significance testing etc)

You are welcome at Spotify for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or what’s playing in your headphones. Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. So bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background.
