Requirements

What You Will Do

  • Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Manages the team and assigns tasks to engineers
  • Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
  • Oversees project logistics and resource allocation.
  • Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
  • Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
  • Represents and Advocates on behalf of the team members
  • Cultural steward and upholds the company values
  • Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
  • Works with the product management team on the strategy and the prioritization
  • Empathizes with the customers and delights them with high quality deliverables
  • Collaborates with other team leaders and departments

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in engineering required 10+ years management experience
  • 5+ years writing production-grade Python code for enterprise applications
  • People management and project management skills
  • Life science background and lab informatics experience is a strong plus
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices, and use Agile/Scrum or similar collaborative tools in a daily basis
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
  • Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership, team building, and mentoring skills
  • Experience using AWS (EC2, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, SQS, etc.)
  • Previously a senior individual contributor as scientific data engineer and is proficient in Python, data schema, data processing and informatics system integration
