We are looking for a talented and ambitious team member with a passion for groundbreaking technology. Please join us and be part of this exciting, new and fast-growing project.

You will work in an agile team of scientists and engineers. As a scientist on the team, you will be involved in every aspect of the development lifecycle, from idea generation and scientific research to development and deployment of advanced models.

Our research themes include, but are not limited to: reinforcement learning, model-free reinforcement learning, deep reinforcement learning, optimisation and graph neural networks.

This role requires a pragmatic technical leader comfortable with ambiguity and capable of summarizing complex data and models through clear visual and written explanations. You will be an experienced machine learning scientist who has a track-record of taking inventions to production. You will be responsible for finding solutions to ambiguous and challenging scientific and engineering problems, as well as for supporting more junior scientists in the team.

You are passionate about using scientific research to deliver value to customers and are motivated to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. You will have experience with machine learning models, reinforcement learning, and the corresponding simulation environments. You will work with internal and external stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and end-users around the world at all levels.

Key job responsibilities
  • Design and build scalable solutions using machine learning models that enable advanced and automated Prime Video app testing at scale.
  • Research and implement novel reinforcement learning approaches to add value to the business.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers and product managers to identify the highest-impact science projects to solve customer problems and formulate their corresponding technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior scientists and interns.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate successful experimental results into Amazon's complex production systems
  • Research the latest modeling techniques and stay current with advancements in the field.
  • Work backwards from customer needs and use that information to make trade-offs between different modeling approaches.
  • Contribute to the publications of the team’s results in international conferences and journals.
