Jellysmack is the global creator company that detects and develops the world's most talented video creators on social media. We're an optimistic crew who naturally goes the extra mile, has a glass-half-full mindset, and sees challenges as opportunities. We look for positive people who think outside the box, are inventive, bold, lead change, and believe that teamwork matters.

Team culture:

Our job is to take numbers and turn them into reasons to celebrate! Data drives everything we do at Jellysmack and is thus essential to the company. Data is at the heart of our success, and it drives the content we create and how we edit videos so we can optimize everything we publish. Everyone on our team is capable of going above and beyond the call of duty. Our goal is to gather and analyze data to help the company grow. Do you have what it takes to be part of our team?

Your mission:

Leverage data to build better solutions for decision-makers, all in a strong spirit of collaboration. You will use the right libraries to address product and business challenges. Your communication skills will enable you to dialogue with the various stakeholders, gather their needs, and present your results in an educational manner.

As part of a team with many different data profiles (applied scientist, research scientist, AI product manager, data scientist, data engineers, machine learning engineers, business analyst), in order to share knowledge, you will have the opportunity to be a mentor for more junior teammates at the algorithmic level. Your mission at Jellysmack will be to produce tools that help editors by speeding up and automating some of their tasks, as well as improving the performance of our videos by producing models that provide a deep understanding of their content. You will work with:

  • Applied scientists construct state-of-the-art solutions to tackle business problems.
  • Machine learning engineers own the responsibility of the product, from modeling to monitoring behavior in production.
  • Research scientists to identify new tools of interest.
  • AI Product manager to deeply understand needs and create solutions that are actionable and adopted by its final users.

Some examples of computer vision and audio topics we deal with at Jellysmack:

  • Automatic cropping of content in videos to adapt it to multiple aspect ratios (object detection and tracking, saliency map estimation, speaker detection, etc).
  • Automatic cutting of an edited video: cuts and transitions (e.g., fade-in/fade-out, wipe) detection.
  • Detection of unsafe visual and audio content in videos to help brand safety.
  • Video summarization (using audio/visual features), action recognition, and other techniques are used to automatically select the best moments in videos to create short content (e.g., YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, etc.).
  • comparing and predicting performances of video clips across platforms (e.g. predicting what to keep from a Youtube video to have a Facebook video with good retention).
  • Calculate the similarity of two videos/channels.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Problem-solving support in high-impact use cases and projects.
  • Taking part in company decisions that have something to do with or affect the field of expertise.
  • Being a reference in a field and being recognized as such both internally and externally:
    • Knowledge sharing, articles
    • internal or research publications.
    • participation in conferences and communication.
    • collaboration both within and outside of teams (academic and industrial).
  • Share what you know through regular presentations and workshops with the data team.
  • Support teams in making scientific and technological choices.
  • Participating in internal training on the subjects of expertise: design, build, and delivery of training.
  • Maintaining their expertise

A little about you:

  • MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the industry, with at least 8+ years of experience in Computer Vision.
  • The industrialization of ML and deep learning models holds no secrets for you. You have already sent and tracked dozens of models into production in different technical environments.
  • Solid Python and software engineering skills.
  • You like to share your knowledge and act as a mentor for the other members of the team.
  • You are well-versed in at least one of the following areas: object detection and tracking (including face and landmark recognition), action recognition/captioning, video summarization, and multi-modal approaches (audio + video or text + image/video).
  • You know how to process videos with high efficiency in a production environment. Knowledge of FFmpeg is a plus.
  • professional working proficiency in English.
