You understand media measurement or are able to quickly pick up domain knowledge on the job. You write production-quality code and enjoy orchestrating your big-data solutions at scale. You also have the communication chops to translate it all into conversation or presentations, connecting strategic objectives to daily work. Seeing the big picture takes attention to detail. ABOUT THE JOBOur team builds methodologies that integrate Nielsen’s state-of-the-art data assets into cutting-edge audience measurement and planning products. The Senior Data Scientist will develop and producionalize data integration models for our content measurement for TV, digital, and radio platforms. Meetings are usually held during standard East Coast working hours; some flexibility may be required for international coordination.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or other STEM fields
- Proficiency in Python, Spark, or Scala to develop sharable software with the appropriate technical documentation
- Experience with enterprise data systems
- Experience with cloud platforms.
- Experience with Hadoop, Apache Spark, and other big data systems
- Experience with Atlassian suite is a plus
- Experience with statistical and machine-learning models
- Experience with both designed and organic data
- 2 or more years work experience in data science
- Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex problems to technical and non-technical audiences
