Sr. Data Scientist - AdTech, Search and Discovery

As a Data Scientist on the Gopuff consumer science team,  you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of high impact projects related to Ads, Search and Recommendation.  You’ll have ownership from prototype to productionalization and the across functional support to launch 0-1 systems. You’ll refine our existing systems in retrieval, ranking and query understanding so that we can show the perfect products to enhance users’ discovery experience.  You’ll make a huge impact on the future success of Gopuff.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance machine learning, statistical and causal models for product search, ranking and recommendation that support various business goals
• Develop new ranking features and build end-to-end modeling pipelines leveraging the latest technologies from the ML and AI communities 
• Collaborate with the dedicated engineering team to create production implementation for large-scale systems using cloud based tech stacks including Snowflake, Databricks, Azure and Elastic cloud 
• Propose and validate hypotheses to direct our business and product roadmap. Partner with the product team to shape the next versions of consumer science of Gopuff. 

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in statistics, mathematics, analytics, computer science, engineering or another quantitative field
• 3-5 years of experience in data science
• Hands-on experience in building ranking and recommendation models in production environments
• Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis 
• Attitude of working-backwards from customers’ problem, move fast and deliver results to improve customer experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and business teams; ability to speak at a level appropriate for the audience
