The Artificial Intelligence team, part of the Digital Technology function, delivers value through machine learning and AI services. We are seeking an Algorithms Engineer to develop and support AI applications and foundational algorithms.

** This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **

What YOU will do:

  • You will design and code skills to implement large-scale AI software. Writes quality code that is robust, readable and scales. 

  • You will support the development of AI applications and products, specifically the foundational models and algorithms.  

  • You will design, evaluate, deploy, and maintain AI/ML models and solutions.  

  • You will provide production support for existing and future models and solutions. 

  • You will solve medium to somewhat complex problems. Possess the drive to dive deep, thrive and progress even in uncertain or undefined situations. 

  • You will work well in an environment focused on rapid yet thorough delivery of product from specifications and instructions when provided. 

  • You will participate in code reviews and create documentation helping to ensure all development projects meet the needs of applicable requirements. 

  • You will support activities to improve company AI literacy.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Technical education and experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science

  • Experience programming in Python.

Skills We Value:

  • Experience developing and training models for Computer Vision, Conversational AI, Natural Language Processing, Decision Support, Ranking/Recommendations, Speech, and Audio. 

  • Experience with AI research, theory, and innovation.  

  • Experience using development tools/environments such as AWS, Python, Linux, Ubuntu, Pandas, NumPy, Bash, Conda, pip, VS Code, Spyder, Git + Github, Databases, TensorFlow, GPU’s, REST APIs. 

  • Understanding what it means to craft software that is a part of a larger microservice architecture. 

  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes (CI/CD), testing, and delivery for existing and new team products. 

  • Experience with LLM’s and Generative AI state-of-the-art methodologies.  

  • Experience with software development process such as software/systems engineering, MLOps, technology requirements capture, technical design, data administration, code optimization, source control, devops, data science and analysis.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
