Job Description

The R&D team is an brainstorming center within the Product group with experience in prototyping and scaling out ideas to full-fledged tools and systems that deliver sustained value for dentsu as an agency and its clients. The problems tackled are in planning and optimization of media investments across traditional and digital media, and strategies to personalize creative, content, and context for custom audiences. The increasing personalization of Television viewing offers a unique opportunity to blend digital strategies (programmatic, search, social) into media planning and optimization. This is a remote position, reporting to EVP, Head of R&D. You will not have managerial responsibilities.

  • You will have experience asking good questions of people, processes, and data.
  • You will abstract out the essence of a business problem, and the pathway to solving and scaling the solution(s) for sustained value.
  • You will have a toolbox of solution techniques, preferably with formal rigor, in the statistical and optimization sciences.
  • You will translate from technical jargon to business communication for influencing stakeholders.
  • You will have ease and familiarity in working with technology (tools, libraries), as adequate for promoting success of analytic solutions, and experience adapting existing/new solutions.
  • You will have a curiosity and interest in the design of a system, regardless of scale, and the importance of UI/UX.
  • You will have visualization skills for enhancing discovery, communication, and repeatability of insights.
  • You will have an interest in modern domain-independent, non-interpretive solution architectures preferred in machine learning and language models.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Masters degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, or the Social Sciences , OR Masters in Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing.
  • Experience in an R&D setting, with experience with design, development, and deployment (desirable) of statistical/optimization solutions.
  • 10+ years of hands-on working experience in Data Science capacity, three years working with people data – CRM, identity graphs, ad-tech/mar-tech log-level data, respondent-level panels, etc.
  • Foundation in either Python or R
  • Experience handling vague, ill-defined business problems, to deliver effectiveness gains to business processes.

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $196,000 - $316,250. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
