Senior Software Developer, AIP

Job location: Our office is in (Ottawa) AND (Toronto), but, you can be anywhere in Canada (REMOTE)

About Us

We are a specialized software engineering team focusing on Big Data and AI in the Cloud within Kinaxis. We work closely with our fellow Data Engineers and Data Scientists to build next cutting-edge innovative and industrial-strength Big Data and AI solutions for the global supply chains and transform them into scalable, secure and maintainable systems.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement a Machine Learning platform for AI.
• Interpret and analyze business use cases and feature requests into technical designs and development tasks.
• Collaborate with a number of teams on system architecture and design.
• Organize and conduct design sessions and code reviews.
• Participate in agile rituals such as pair programming, backlog refinements and retrospectives.
• Investigate and troubleshoot defects in a timely fashion 
• Effectively communicate technical and product knowledge to stakeholders at various levels such as engineers, product managers, engineer managers, architects, and upper management

What We Are Looking For 

• 5+ years of experience in software development
• 2+ years of experience in software development with Python (or similar programming language)
• Proven experience in developing/maintaining Microservice based architectures.
• Experience in designing and maintaining large data-oriented systems
• Leadership through strong software engineering knowledge and discipline
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

Things That Would Help

• Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Spark and Hive
• ETL and data warehouse/lake experience
• MLOps/DataOps/ DevOps
• Cloud (Azure, GCP or AWS) Experience
