What you’ll be responsible for

 

Implement the management of the reporting asset hierarchy for the District Metered Area and upstream losses estate to effectively deliver the business strategy. This will include:

1.    Being accountable for the accurate reporting of Leakage data within the corporate systems and being instrumental in the delivery process applying current best practices and striving for continuous improvement to meet targets.

2.    Coordinate and work in partnership with key business stakeholders to ensure all projects comply with DCWW H & S and Integrated Management System (IMS) process and procedures. 

3.    Undertake extensive data analysis to better understand the leakage situation on the distribution network and implement improvement plans to address challenges. 

4.    Taking the lead and being accountable for the targeting of Pro-active leakage, supporting the effective deployment of resources on the DMA estate. Expected to play a key role in the performance review of leakage interventions alongside Leakage Delivery colleagues. In addition, understanding the daily reactive position and advising the Delivery Team as required.

5.    Provide routine summary reports and data sets to the management team to support all ongoing leakage delivery activities and provide opportunities for efficiencies and innovative ways of working. Lead in the creation of new leakage-controlled areas schemes which will decrease the intervention time for leakage resource, hence providing a cost benefit to the business.

6.    Develop effective working relationships and conduct regular meetings with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the team is providing valuable information that continually meets expectations. 

7.    Being actively involved in the implementation of industry best practice and the identification and utilisation of existing and new techniques and processes. 

8.    Promoting the Leakage Strategy aims and achievements within the business, aligning key outputs with the business needs. Provide leakage expertise to support network incidents and produce relevant reports as required.

9.    Participate in the appropriate operational standby as required. This will involve coordinating inspectors on-site to limit the impact to CML and accountability whilst ensuring Health & Safety processes are followed.

10.    Responsible for the governance of the distribution estate, assisted by being fully competent in all the relevant corporate systems. Also expected to manage and maintain the alarms and targets for all leakage-controlled areas.

11.    Play a key role identifying opportunities to improve data operability to help meet the company’s current target of 90%.

About you

 


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Highly proficient IT skills and a demonstrable understanding and working knowledge of DCWW’s corporate systems including Waternet, Watercore, Prism, Geoweb, SAP, the Wholesale Demand System, Power BI and the Performance & Efficiency Tool
  • A high degree of analytical ability, with the ability to gather, understand, analyse, and interpret information and produce insightful reports.
  • Ability to manage workloads to deliver business outcomes to time, quality and cost objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage across DCWW functions and partners
