About the PositionReporting to the Senior Manager, FP&A, the FP&A Data Analyst will serve as a key contributor on the finance team. The FP&A Data Analyst will systematize, clean, analyze, and organize FiscalNote’s financial data sets. In doing so, this position will also provide intelligible insights in their reporting of data sets. 
About the Finance TeamAs we ramp up in revenue, team size, acquisitions, and outside investments, our Finance team ensures clarity, consistency, and transparency surrounding our rapidly advancing financial position. Charged to understand everything about startup and SaaS finance and accounting, the Finance team fuels growth with its finger always on the pulse of the company’s financial affairs.

What to Expect in this Position:

  • Conducts analysis of financial and/or business data to identify actionable insights. Merges data from multiple sources/systems and provides ad-hoc reporting when needed
  • Leverages accounting and/or business data using internal tools, systems, and data sources
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Accounting, IT, Development, and Business Units) to develop progressive analytics
  • Develops reports, dashboards, and models to explore data and explain opportunities
  • Merges structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from several systems to highlight company trends
  • Delivers high-quality analysis, reports, and presentations using simple and effective visualizations that can be scaled for consumption by a larger audience
  • Creates and maintains monthly and quarterly reporting metrics and analysis
  • Builds strong relationships and collaborates with teammates, business leaders, and other internal clients
  • Automates data and analytics solutions, build and prototypes dashboards to provide insights
  • Continuously monitors data quality and integrity
  • Manipulates and analyzes large data sets to gain insights and provide recommendations
  • Documents and maintains procedures for reports and records of information management and storage protocols
  • Leverages advanced technical knowledge of excel and other data visualization tools

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Analysis, Data Science, Economics, or Finance
  • 2+ years of experience in Data Analytics
  • Experience with data visualization and advanced analytics tools (Microsoft Power BI)
  • Critical, analytical thinker with strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce and Netsuite
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative partner builds and maintains professional relationships
