We are excited to bring a Data Scientist on board to work with Reddit Team X leading the new initiative discovery efforts. Reddit Team X iterates on new features that build the next generation of Reddit Community that is Synchronous, Self-sustaining, and Extensible.
As the Senior Data Scientist embedded on the team, you’ll be the expert in ensuring we understand how users consume and engage with new features across different discovery surfaces. You will help us make the right product decisions based on experimentation and analyses that use the world’s coolest dataset. You will partner closely with other data scientists, engineers, PMs, and designers, and your work will accelerate new feature adoption and promote user engagement and retention.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner cross-functionally with Eng and Product leads to help define and implement the team's roadmaps and initiatives
- Define team metrics and goals and make them easily available through ETLs (extract/transform/load) and reporting dashboards
- Design and evaluate A/B tests for product feature experiments to understand the effectiveness of product strategy
- Generate data-driven insights that propose next steps in strategic roadmaps
Who You Might Be:
- 4+ years of experience in Data Science or Analytics function in a tech consumer company
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., SQL)
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and programming languages preferred (e.g., R / Python)
- Experience creating and owning reports in visualization tools (Mode, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc)
- Demonstrated ability to ideate data research, distill insights into strong product recommendations and lead A/B tests to test the data-led hypotheses
- Have worked with teams leveraging Machine Learning for ranking or similar features
- Ability to tackle ambiguous and undefined problems.
- Entrepreneurial and self-directed, demonstrated ability to innovate and bias toward action in fast-paced environments
- Ability to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
