THINGS YOU WILL DO:

Data Lineage

Business areas (such as the Personal or Commercial Banking divisions) and functions (such as the Risk or Finance functions) will engage the services of the data utility to:

  • Identify and register critical data elements
  • Identify, register, and produce visualisations of data lineage flows, controls and governance
  • Identify any control or governance gaps which may require remediation
  • Demonstrate compliance with relevant internal policy or regulation relating to the control of data (such as BCBS 239 regulation for risk functions)

Process Mapping

Similarly to Data Lineage, business areas and functions will engage the services of the data utility to:

  • Identify, register, and produce visualisations of process flows, particularly where critical data elements are aggregated for internal or regulatory reporting
  • Demonstrate effective control and governance frameworks for risk management purposes

 

Skills Required

In order to fulfil the above, Capco are seeking individuals who:

  • Have existing knowledge, or a keen desire to learn, data management frameworks including data lineage mapping
  • Have existing knowledge, or willingness to learn relevant introductory coding in data query languages such as SPARQL
  • Have existing knowledge, or a keen desire to learn, process mapping
  • Accreditation and experience in Lean Six Sigma is welcome
  • Have experience or interest in change management projects, and the production of project documents including management reporting packs, deliverables logs, backlogs of items for remediation
  • Ability to work with MS PowerPoint and Visio
