Role Overview

Sitting within the data team focused on fleets of vehicles, you will be working closely with our other data engineers and data scientists to build the services that provide data to our engineering teams. You will be sitting right at the heart of our strategy to price insurance more fairly based on novel risk factors and to provide our customers with the information they need to control their risk and reduce their premiums. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of the insurtech revolution.

What you will be working on

• You will work in an experienced data team with other data engineers, data scientists and a product manager. You will be interacting with this team on a daily basis as you establish how best to deliver the outcomes the rest of the business needs.
• Most of your time will be spent writing python services, working with fairly large data sets in S3 and Postgres and building out infrastructure to deliver data in an accessible way to the team’s various stakeholders.

About You

• We’re looking for someone who has some experience working as a software or data engineer in a commercial setting.
• Our stack includes Python, Postgres, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with these technologies would be advantageous.
• Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes ownership of problems and works well in a team. We’re looking for someone who contributes to discussions and also takes time to listen with an open mind to different viewpoints.
