What You'll Do:
The Enterprise Data Architect is a key member of the engineering team who sits at the intersection of product development and the overall technology vision. The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for providing leadership from an enterprise-wide perspective in the definition, design, review, selection, communication, and implementation of our data architectural direction to most effectively realize Jamf’s value, vision and strategies. The role is responsible for being highly collaborative and interactive across many levels and functions across the entire organization. The position is also responsible for delivering technology plans, roadmaps, guidance, and the associated governance that is required to enable technology changes to be effective.
Responsibilities:
- Provide enterprise leadership and guidance in the areas of data management, data modelling, master data management, data governance, transformations, enrichment, data integrations and data pipelines.
- Define and enhance Jamf’s data strategy and data architecture capabilities (data model framework, data domain model, architecture runways, other capabilities) and their adoption across Jamf Products, Data Hub and Analytics environments.
- Develop data architecture blueprints, patterns, roadmaps, and frameworks that enable adoption, reuse and standardization
- Create and Manage the Jamf Enterprise Logical Data Model including gathering and aligning the model to our business, and guiding adoption across the organization.
- Lead highly visible data strategy and transformation initiatives and provide data design activities on key enterprise projects.
- Provide thought leadership on industry best practices and new technologies that improve our data architecture, operations, and delivery to provide competitive advantage to our organization
- Facilitate data architecture reviews to ensure compliance to standards and architecture tenets (ability to achieve goals, performance, security, existing architecture alignment, technical debt management, among others)
- Consult, direct and coach project, engineering and architecture teams on data related topics and their adoption of enterprise principals.
- Communicate data architecture vision, technical strategies, and trade-offs across various levels in the organization to gain adoption.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years working with Data Architectures of enterprise data assets including operational platforms, data lakehouses, data warehouses, master data management (MDM), data quality, data analytics & business intelligence, data integrations, architecture frameworks, data privacy and data governance. (Required)
- Minimum of 5 years experience data modeling and coaching team members on modeling: Entity Relationships, Logical Models, Physical Models, Unstructured data, Canonical Modeling, and modeling tools. (Required)
- Minimum of 5 years experience implementing enterprise application architectures (Required)
- Minimum 3 years experience integrating data governance, data security, and data integration capabilities and related tools into the data function (Required)
- Knowledge of Logical and physical data modeling, data design, relational databases, data pipelines, unstructured data, microservices, and other related data concepts (Required)
- Deep understanding of data and how it relates to architecture (Data ingestion, Realtime, Batch, SQL, NoSQL, Analytics, etc.) (Required)
- Experience utilizing new and emerging technologies to facilitate innovation in existing applications and environments (Required)
- Demonstrated experience using Agile/Scrum frameworks and modern products development methodologies (Required)
- Experience communicating project direction and status with stakeholders (Required)
- Demonstrated experience developing enterprise application architectures to meet business requirements in complex environments (Required)
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of existing, new and emerging technologies that enable and drive new business designs and models (Required)
- Experience with professional communication across mediums: verbal, written, presentations, Zoom (or equivalent) (Required)
- Comfortable with resolving conflicting viewpoints and achieving agreement (Required)
- Experience creating, maintaining and gaining adoption of Enterprise Logical Data Models. (Preferred)
Education & Certifications:
- High School diploma or GED (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study (Preferred)
- Equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience is acceptable.
