Data Architect / Data Engineer

Location: Dulles, VA

Node is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission-critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment; including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats.

Node is seeking a Data Architect/ Data Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Perform as the Senior Data Engineer, central Data Engineering point of contact and coordinate data engineering requirements and priorities.

- Develop and maintain the data engineering team process improvement plans

- Coordinate tasking, metrics, and updates for the Data Engineering team.

- Develop code using various programming and scripting languages to automate data ingestion and improve data management processes.

- Develop automated ingestion pipelines

- Train new personnel and guide junior-level employees.

- Ensure Data Engineering Team Standard Operating Procedures are appropriately captured and communicated across the team.

- Ensure technical correctness, timeliness and quality of deliverables for the team

- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to all levels of management and the customer.

Requirements

Required Skills:

- U.S. Citizenship required

- Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability

- This is a Hybrid position, but remote work will be considered

- 10+ years of directly relevant experience - 5+ years of experience focused on database performance tuning

- Perform as the Senior Data Engineer, central Data Engineering point of contact and coordinate data engineering requirements and priorities.

- Develop and maintain the data engineering team process improvement plan.

- Coordinate tasking, metrics, and updates for the Data Engineering team.

- Develop code using various programming and scripting languages to automate data ingestion and improve data management processes.

- Develop automated ingestion pipelines - Train new personnel and guide junior-level employees.

- Ensure Data Engineering Team Standard Operating Procedures are appropriately captured and communicated across the team.

- Ensure technical correctness, timeliness and quality of deliverables for the team.

- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to all levels of management and the customer.

Desired Skills: - Up-to-date knowledge of COTS, GOTS and open-source data engineering technologies and demonstrated experience implementing data engineering process improvements.

- Experience with various data formats (json, csv, .etc)

- Experience with Apache NiFi

- DHS experience

Required Education: BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, OR Computer Systems Engineering.

Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education.
