The team - Data Development Experience

The Data Development Experience team monitors and optimizes the complete data development journey at Nubank. By understanding users' problems and the data platform engineering strategy, the team develops tools to enhance development productivity.

About the role

The Nubank data platform is colossal and evolving toward a decentralized model rooted in the data mesh paradigm. This decentralized architecture introduces challenges for data development, as individual users can own and modify components of the platform independently, potentially leading to inconsistent experiences.

As a Technical Product Manager, your primary objective will be to deeply understand the existing data development experiences at Nubank and identify opportunities for optimization to enhance developer productivity. Additionally, you will oversee Nubank's Databricks, a tool extensively utilized for data development.

  • Define, prioritize, and communicate short and long-term product goals - mostly through written communication;
  • Work closely with engineering and other functions (e.g., data science, data engineers, analytical engineers), to specify and refine requirements for products from inception to launch;
  • Stay up to date with the data engineering industry trends and map potential tools to be used to enhance data development productivity;
  • Serve as a team advocate by communicating with stakeholders and connecting the developments being done with Nubank business and engineering strategies;

Desired skills and competencies

  • Experience working with data engineering products as a Product Manager (prior engineering experience is a plus);
  • Proven track record of owning and supporting the entire product life cycle of successful technical products;
  • Strong desire to identify and meet the needs of users.
  • Comfortable working with numerical data and making data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to transform incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into a clear strategy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
