About the Role:

As a Sr. Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to partner with a cross-functional team that is dedicated to defining and delivering autonomous solutions across software, hardware, and will drive the related product management activities. This role will direct every stage of the product lifecycle including R&D, testing, and positioning to ensure a technically feasible AD kit for autonomous vehicle is developed that meets user and customer needs as well as business objectives within provided constraints.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive the product lifecycle for AD kit comprising of various sensors, compute, and ECUs from start to finish, working jointly with Engineering
  • Own the roadmaps and specifications for various components of AD Kit
  • Develop a deep, pervasive knowledge of the features, capabilities, and advantages provided by various sensors
  • Closely collaborate with Torc's OEM partner and component suppliers to ensure AD kit for autonomous vehicle meets the underlying product vision and requirements
  • Besides the classical product management skills, strong technical knowledge is required to be able to understand and assess technical options and provide related guidance focusing on the area of sensor technologies, perception as well as different hardware architectures.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (Masters preferred) or MBA
  • Experience with products featuring lasers, precision optics, and/or electromechanical components
  • Experience working for or with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
  • Experience with products that meet published safety standards like ISO 26262
  • Experience developing and managing projects with complex hardware and software integration
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in the mechanical, electrical, software and systems domains
  • Experience developing and/or integrating autonomous vehicles. 
  • Great organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient at communicating complex concepts to a targeted audience in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Stellar problem-solving skills
  • Driven self-starter
  • Work well with ambiguity within a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with remote teams and travel domestically/internationally when deemed necessary

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of hardware development best practices is a big plus
  • Experience working with/for automotive component suppliers and/or OEM's (Class 8 Truck OEM preferred)
