Technical Ops Lead (Hadoop/Big Data)

During COVID, all team members are working-from-home and are provided with new monitors, laptops, headsets, chairs and internet connections to be comfortable and productive. Our custom designed office is in the heart of leafy Jayanagar close to shops, parks and a metro station (which we will re-open only when it is safe to do so).

The role will encompass:

• Leading a team of devops and system administration professionals to provide 9/5 cover of major Australian enterprise big data platforms. 
• Providing technical guidance and ITIL process leadership
• Working with a globally distributed team in a follow-the-sun model
• Development of frameworks and IP.
• Identifying and executing on continual service improvements.
• Providing monthly operations reports.

Core required skills:

• A sound technical background with experience in infrastructure or platform support
• Experience managing complex enterprise data lake or data warehouse infrastructure and platforms.
• Certification in any one of RHEL, CCNA, a DBA or Cloud Administration, ITIL is a must.
• Experience in on-premise (e.g. Linux, OpenStack, Hadoop) or cloud (e.g. Azure).
• We’ll train you to grow expertise in new platforms and technologies.
• Strong ITIL knowledge.
• Team leadership experience.
• Sound Devops experience or strong desire to grow in this area.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
