Data Analyst

The team:

Genetec is currently looking for a Data Analyst. We are looking for a dynamic and efficient individual who loves to work in a fast-paced environment. You will allow Genetec to distinguish itself by providing its customers and business partners with Data enabling Reporting Solutions and Analytics capabilities.

As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering information to define business data requirements, preparing technical and functional design documentation. You will create Data models, follow the Enterprise Architecture vision to implement and maintain Data Warehouse models and other data structures to enable integrity and availability to our partners.

This position requires attention to detail and the ability to align information and business processes.

What your day will look like:

• Demonstrate strong understanding of the business goals and vision in order to align the reporting solutions accordingly
• Work with business analysts, BI and stakeholders to analyze and define business requirements and incorporate them into the BI, data warehouse, and data mart solution
• Design/Analysis Data Model following Architecture Diagrams/documents under the supervision of the Architecture team
• Design/Analysis Business Intelligence Data Catalog based on architecture recommendations
• Master new tools and prepare/document trainings and workshops for Business Analysts
• Define corporate measures and KPIs aligned with business goals and strategy across different departments to empower and facilitate business decisions
• Maintain/Evolve existing Data Warehouse Models and other data structures based on Architecture specifications
• Work with DBA and the Enterprise Architect to tune and optimize the performance of the data warehouse and data integration into BI ecosystems
• Keep up to date on data source enhancements, data models schemas, and data quality issues and develop and enhance processes to incorporate changes

About you:

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, or equivalent
• Deep knowledge and understanding of Data Modeling (3NF, Denormalized, Dimensional, Big Data), Business intelligence, Data warehouse and data mart solutions
• 5+ years of pertinent experience
• Experience with Data Catalog implementation or maintenance
• Excellent knowledge of requirements gathering and documenting (Data Modeling)
• Information security awareness
• Superior communication and negotiation skills
• Bilingual, French and English

Technical Expertise:

• Experience with business intelligence tools and ecosystems
• Experience with Microsoft tools, Data Lake, PowerBI
• Experience in Data Flow Modeling
